finally took this outside for a quick photo today. 'welcome' was created for the 'white cloud, buttermilk sky' show at hotshot gallery back in early march.

i started by making an eska board panel(bad idea?), layered it with yellow paper, old maps from textbooks and hand-dyed tengu-jo tissues. a lot of cutting and tracing to get the layers to register. it might make more sense if you've seen it in person - the yellow paper is under the maps.
