BEECROFT / I think it is going back to a time before there was a division between painting, messy stuff, and the clean photography, geometry and minimalism. Young artist can mix it all up and they don't care, it's more liberated. It is almost like modernism is coming back without needing such left wing content, the very strict way of thinking, which I really like, but it didn't include painting, and now it can be included. After all so much of art is drawing and painting but in my time it looked like it had reached extinction. It was like you could think you were a nihilistic motherfucker that didn't care about anybody but yourself.
